The Center for Mediation offers customized training programs and workshops for individuals and groups around constructive dialogue, communication skills, conflict management and resolution.
Along with our workshops, we can design a custom-tailored program to best meet your needs and can range from two hours to a multiple-day intensive program.
Our workshops engage and educate participants in an interactive, safe environment. Experienced and skilled trainers teach principles and practical, useful tools that can be used immediately both personally and professionally.
Basic Mediation Training
The Center for Mediation provides multiple 30-hour mediation trainings annually. A certificate of completion is issued to all participants, qualifying them under the Rhode Island statute R.I.G.L. Sec. 9-19-44 to ensure confidentiality in the disputes they mediate. This course is approved for MCLE credits for RI attorneys. Attorneys wishing to receive MCLE credits must apply via Appendix G on the Supreme Court Attorney Portal at www.courts.ri.gov.
Conflict Resolution Training in Schools
The Center for Mediation provides a Peer Mediation training program that is developmentally appropriate for elementary, middle, and high school students. Students learn basic communication skills and conflict resolution skills to become peer mediators. The Center for Mediation works with schools to set up the Peer Mediation Program.
