The Center teaches a 12 hour youth leadership program that introduces teenagers to essential life skills in recognizing and de-escalating conflict. We teach youth effective communication skills, restorative justice principles, and mental health awareness in addition to deescalation.
For many youth in high-risk situations, an awareness of how conflict develops and intensifies can be the difference between a positive and a negative outcome.
The Center runs this program for at-risk youth in partnership with organizations across the state, including at the Rhode Island Training School in partnership with RI DCYF.
